I am writing to recommend Josh Counsel as an excellent resource for both professional and educational theater make up needs. The Arts and Technology Department at Lake Howell high School has been taking advantage of Mr Counsel's talents for three years.
The workshops that Josh has conducted for our students have quite simply revolutionized the way we approach make up design for our various productions. He provides practical instruction for safe, sanitary and economical methods of make up artistry, and his expertise covers the full range of styles from the most natural to the most fantastic. The combination of his interactive demonstrations, astounding visual portfolio, and the broad repertoire of anecdotes from his entertainment industry experiences make him a dynamic and authoritative guest artist.
Over 600 students at Lake Howell have taken part in his workshops, and although the students came from a wide array of experience and interest levels, each and every one of them was fully engaged in the activities initiated by Mr Counsel in each session. He is a master at meeting the needs of all types of students, balancing the basics with advanced details in a seamless presentation.
Josh has also been an invaluable resource for production work at Lake Howell. He has provided practical advice in the use of prosthetics, created molds specifically for our needs, and has acted as a mentor to our most advanced make up students. I am well aware that many of the services he provides for us would be otherwise unaffordable for a high school theater department, and am grateful to him for making this kind of educational experience available for my students.

I would like to take a moment to offer my strong recommendations for Josh Counsel as a make-up artist. Josh has worked for me applying a variety of character make-ups as well as prosthetic appliances. His knowledge of the craft and his professionalism were consistent and exceeded my expectations.
